Measurements are made in a special lab specifically built for this purpose (class 10000 clean room). The complete lab design, including the construction material, was done to eliminate disruptive influences to the greatest extent possible. Trained technicians are available on site to remedy any hardware problems as quickly as possible.
The ICP-SFMS technique, in connection with the unique lab in Luleå has numerous advantages over the standard quadrupole technique:
- very high resolution (thereby, for example, avoidance of interference, false-positive results)
- very low determination limits (depending on the matrix, until in the ppt range)
- smallest possible sample material is sufficient (significant cost savings when using expensive samples)
All measurements are carried out by ICP-MS specialists with many years of training. The lab is directed by Dr. Illa Rodushikin, an ICP-MS expert.
More than 10 ICP-SFMS units are available. This has the following advantages:
- fast results even for large sample quantities and faster order response thanks to greater capacity
- high redundancy if one unit breaks down
- dedicated application of individual units; for example, one unit to measure sea water, one for certain APIs, etc. This means fewer contaminants as well as largely avoiding material spreading and memory effects
Naturally, we are also equipped for larger projects and validations.
A multicollector ICP-SFMS unit is also available for research projects.
One major current topic is naturally the introduction of the USP chapters <232> and <233> (elemental impurities). We will be happy to advise you about this!
The special laboratory works under GMP, ISO EN 17025 (2030, 556571-8818) and is FDA audited.
Thanks to our exclusive collaboration, Simec AG is the only contract laboratory in Switzerland that offers outstanding technology. And at standard market prices for "normal" ICP-MS analytics.
